Visit the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia

Service Arrangement for Visiting the Archaeological Sites of Paestum and Velia from September 26, 2023, to March 30, 2024

In order to ensure safe visits to the archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia considering the reduced daylight hours during the autumn and winter seasons, the following guidelines for accessing the archaeological sites and the corresponding schedule have been established.

At the Paestum site, as per the provided schedule, Porta Cerere will be closed, allowing limited access exclusively to the Southern Sanctuary area until 7:30 PM (last entry at 6:30 PM).

At the Velia site, according to the provided schedule, access to the acropolis will be prohibited, with limited visits allowed only in the lower city area until 7:30 PM (last entry at 6:30 PM). Visits to the lower city will be conducted under the supervision of FAV service staff and private security personnel.

TIMETABLES

The Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the last ticket issued at 6:30 p.m.

TICKET OFFICE

In Paestum, you can buy your entrance ticket at the Museum or at“Porta Principale ticket office” (in front of the Temple of Neptune).

In Velia it is possible to buy the entrance ticket at the ticket office located at the entrance of the site.

RATES

The ticket for the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia is valid for 3 days and includes access to the Archaeological Area and the Museum of Paestum and the Archaeological Area of Velia.

FROM OCTOBER 3, 2023, FOLLOWING THE REOPENING OF THE PAESTUM MUSEUM, THE PRICES OF TICKETS FOR ACCESS TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF PAESTUM AND VELIA WILL BE AS FOLLOWS

from December to February

• Full: € 10.00
• Reduced (people from the age of 18 until the day of the 25th year of age): € 2.00

from March to November

• Full: € 15.00
• Reduced (people from the age of 18 until the day of the 25th year of age): € 2.00

The aforementioned prices have increased by € 1.00, in support of the restoration of the cultural heritage of Emilia-Romagna and the Marches affected by the recent flood. The Italian government has in fact established the € 1 increase in the ticket in all state museums from 15 June to 15 September 2023, with a recent extension to 15 December 2023 following the entry into force of Decree-Law No. 105 of 10 August 2023.

To buy online the entrance ticket to the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia:

Before starting the purchase procedure, log in or register on the Vivaticket website.

Choose “Subscription” by clicking “Buy” and follow the payment procedure.

At the top right there is the search bar: in this space type “Paestum”, here a dropdown opens which allows you to choose between an annual ticket and the daily ticket (choose “Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia”) valid for 3 days that allows you to visit the Park of Paestum and Velia;

By selecting the option “Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia” there is the possibility to choose between the full-reduced ticket or family ticket and also the time slot for booking the visit in the two archaeological sites.

With the purchase receipt you can enter into the Park without passing again from the ticket office.
